Project RHEIN
Integrated RF MMIC Devices with RISC-V Core for High Energy Efficiency Communication Applications and Heterogeneous Integration.

Technical description
The project develops a RISC-V control subsystem in FPGA specialised in managing RF block parameters for M2M communications in the millimetre band (30-300 GHz). Designed for IoT environments, Industry 4.0, and 5G/6G networks, the system is modular, reconfigurable, and ready for heterogeneous integration in SiP configuration. Public description: The project investigates how to precisely control and reduce energy consumption of the radio frequency chips that enable the communications of the future: 5G, 6G, and industrial IoT. The result is a reprogrammable system that can adapt to different environments and prepare for integration into next-generation chips.

Beneficiary entity and partners
The beneficiary entity is Tecnologías, Servicios Telemáticos y Sistemas SA-WIMMIC Subcontracting: Fundación INNOVA IRV.

Financing budget and granted subsidy
Budget: 4,842,309.80 € Subsidy: 2,905,385.80 €

Duration
01/12/2024 - 30/06/2026
